Engagements are fun are they not? You get to announce it to the world in whatever fashion you desire. Be it writings in the sky, a dramatic drop-knee at a top romantic restaurant or just some other creative slash mundane way that suits you. There’s so much excitement over the ring and the planning of high teas. The sweet little treat to celebrate this momentous step closer to the big day.
Writer break: Got to grab a chocolate milk. Throat is scratchy. Ok, back at it.
So, when a good buddy asked if I can create an illustration of 2 teddy bears holding a chalkboard with ‘We’re Engaged’ on it, I, of course, said yes :] It ‘s for her invites she told me. She referenced the forever bears and the fizzy moon bears. I gave it a quick google and then got on to getting down some roughs. The roughs… they are mighty rough, made to scribble some poses and composition in. I refined them a bit to give her a notion of how the colouring of the bears would be simulated and also shaped up the lines a little.
She chose ‘B’ and wanted some casual clothes, pink bow on the boy bear and a simple pink dress for the girl bear :] Off to work I went embellishing as I go along. Freedom is key. Line art is always fun when you get drawn into it… time flies whilst you get the lines just the way you want it. Added some name tags near the end. I am a slow worker and I am a perfectionist in regards to getting things just so… so I’m like a turtle that doesn’t give up. 20 years later (haha 3 days later working on and off and watching Rachel Khoo on TV)… I produce this:
I utilised the natural brush set that comes with PS6. Drew directly on the screen of my Surface Pro2 (E’s christmas present to me) whilst lying about.
Payment: A lovely lunch when I am next in Australia X) I want meat pies, macarons and eclairs annd annnd a delicious coffee (of some sort… haven’t figured out what I want yet in the beverage department)!!! RAWRRRR! IE heading to The French Patisserie at The Rocks :]
Hope you enjoyed the post, I have to head to the library now… DVD ‘Tales of Earthsea’ needs to be returned X].
Until next time, keep creating :]
PS. Actually I have a few more requests I have yet to fulfill ._. Got to get get now X]
Homage to all things sweet and delicious, Laduree ❤
Hei hei Everyone!
Oh look, sketches!
Had Kimbra’s album on loop whilst happily doodling friday away :] Also, got through the first 4 episodes of The Carrie Diaries when I took a break from listening to the loop. I still wish they didn’t cancel Jane by Design… I really liked that show… and all Jane’s wardrobe! I think I should get another monitor as I had to reduce my photoshop window quite a bit to fit in the media player XD Also… do click for a bigger look at the silly goldfish, it’s a little sharper when it’s at it’s proper unsquished size :]
Now… i’m quite famished! Time to see when some yummy tomato soup and toasty buttered sourdough can be made! Yeh… the kitchen is currently getting measured coz we are having some black floral plates gracing the walls of the kitchen! yay! I’ll leave you with this last pic, I was chatting to my friend earlier today and he asked to draw him a ferret. He said he would like one for a pet and can have them trained for the hood XD So here goes, a girl in a hoodie with a ferret… bit hard to tell what that furry creature is… sitting on her shoulder. Hoope you like it James :]
Enjoy the weekend everyone! Har en fin helgen! 🙂
Yay it’s friday!
Since coming to Norway, I have been doodling here and there but it’s time to get back into drawing regularly. Friday shall be the day I share the doodles of the week. I think I recall seeing a 100 theme challenge, gotta hunt that down. I also should participate in Illustration Friday which seems so fun 🙂 I need to experiment a little more with my acrylics and watercolours… but still a little hesistant as there’s a lot more mess and there’s no ‘undo’ button to drawing traditionally compared to digitally XD Continue reading
Wow… what’s up with this -10 degrees in Bergen??
My face was frozen numb with all my goosebumps standing to attention as I power walked from the bus stop towards the warmth of my classroom. I was pretty covered by my puffy sleeping bag-esque down coat but my fingers! Fingers were pratically popsicles (!!!) from holding onto the water bottle.
I know, I know, I hear you say, girl, you should have just stopped and pulled on some leather gloves but you know what I thought? Hey, I can totally hack this… so I soldiered on. Haha, this is not a tragic story… I didn’t end up losing two fingers from frostbites, I was just cursing under my breath and willing myself to walk even quicker without scraping and ruining the heels of my boots. 🙂
Dum di dum… time to start working on my lekser (homework). See yas!
